In October 2003 Mitsui Electronic Materials and GfE Metalle und Materialien GmbH sign an agreement for their future cooperation. GfE Metalle und Materialien GmbH is responsible for the distribution of ITO Targets in Europa and North America.
This cooperation enables GfE Metalle und Materialien GmbH to include ITO Targets in its product portfolio and therefore respond to the customer's requirements in an even better way.
ITO produced by Mitsui Electronic Materials is used primarily in the display-industry, the flat glass industry and in the area of photovoltaic. The material distinguishes itself by a unique quality, a high degree of density, a great homogeneity and an optimized surface finish. The use of high quality ITO made by Mitsui Electronic Materials has the great advantage of minimizing dust formation (nodule growth). Compared to competitive materials, the operating life of the targets before purification can be increased by a significant factor of 2-2,5.
