ALD Vacuum Technologies AG: Broad Technology Spectrum at Thermprocess 2003 in Düsseldorf, Germany
Hanau, May 08, 2003 - ALD Vacuum Technologies AG from Hanau, Germany will present itself from June 16 to 21 at this year's Thermprocess and the affiliated technology fairs Gifa, Metec and Newcast in Düsseldorf with a far reaching information package for the interested public.
ALD Vacuum Technologies is a world leader in processes and systems for vacuum metallurgy and vacuum heat treatment. With subsidiaries in the USA, Japan, China and Great Britain and more than 70 representatives worldwide, ALD`s customers are suppliers to the energy, environmental, chemical, materials, automotive as well as air and space craft industries.
The information offerings at Thermprocess will include sections of the systems spectrum of ALD Vacuum Technologies, such as the new design concept ModulTherm for vacuum heat treatment. This system is based on a railmounted shuttle module that is comprised of a quench chamber and a transfer module as well as one or several stationary treatment chambers. Other modules, such as a vacuum carburizing chamber can be integrated as required by the customer.
Since the introduction of the ModulTherm in the middle of 2002, four systems have been sold to first rate customers, such as BMW Munich.
In the field of vacuum metallurgy, the largest vacuum induction melting and casting furnace in Europe received a lot of attention in February 2003: This large VIDP melting furnace produced by ALD, was delivered in a several days heavy autobahn transport to the customer's plant at ThyssenKrupp VDM in Unna.
The VIDP furnace design is characterized by a compact chamber design with high operational flexibility.
In the business field turbine blade coating ALD is the world leader. "Thermal Barrier Coatings" are applied for protection against heat, oxidation and sulfidation in order to fulfill the stringent requirements in aircraft and power turbines. In the near future, turbine parts of a major European aircraft turbine maker will be coated in ALD coating systems. These turbines will be utilized in long distance airplanes such as Airbus 340 and Airbus 380.
You will find ALD Vacuum Technologies AG at Thermprocess, Halle 5.0, Booth No. 5 G 16.
