Success for ALD Vacuum Technologies AG with its New Technology in Vacuum Heat Treatment
During the late 1990s ALD Vacuum Technologies AG, Hanau, Germany has developed its "New Technology for the heat treatment of gear parts and components for novel Diesel injection systems (Common Rail) and successfully introduced it in the marketplace.
This "New Technology is based on the processes of vacuum carburizing combined with high pressure gas quenching. It offers the user the opportunity to restructure its manufacturing processes and to optimize its costs. Furthermore, product quality, process stability and environmental compatibility are improved.
After the early hesitation of users in the automotive and supplier industry, there is now a general trend towards the worldwide employment of this "New Technology.
As one of the worldwide leading suppliers of automotive gear boxes, the company Getrag Getriebe- und Zahnradfabrik, Hermann Hagenmeyer GmbH & Cie., Untergruppenbach, Germany has systematically introduced and expanded this technology in its factories.
After the first systems have been operating for three years in Getrags German factories, the company has recently decided to again do the next capacity expansion with the employment of ALDs "New Technology.
In January 2002, Getrag has ordered from ALD Vacuum Technologies AG another system for its Rosenberg works and has agreed on an option to purchase additional systems in Germany. In this transaction, ALD prevailed over its competition.
With this decision an important step has been taken towards a broader introduction of this technology.
For ALD Vacuum Technologies AG this success is a confirmation of its continuous forward development during the recent years.
