Heinz C. Schimmelbusch

Heinz C. Schimmelbusch has an extensive history in process industries, dating back to 1973 when he began his career with Metallgesellschaft AG, Germany, a multi-billion dollar, multi-national company, where he rose to the position of Chairman of the Management Board. Mr. Schimmelbusch was also Chairman of the Board of Buderus AG, a leading manufacturer of commercial and residential heating equipment; of Dynamit Nobel AG, a leading manufacturer of explosives and specialty chemicals; and of Norddeutsche Affinerie AG, Europe’s largest copper producer. Mr. Schimmelbusch has also served on the Boards of leading German corporations and institutions including Allianz Versicherungs AG, Philipp Holzman AG and Mobil Oil AG and on the Advisory Boards of Dresdner Bank AG and the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development. He has been Chairman of the Board of a number of public companies in the process industries, including: Inmet Corporation, Toronto; Methanex Corporation, Vancouver; and B.U.S. Umweltservice AG, Duisburg. Mr. Schimmelbusch also served as a member of the Presidency of the Federation of German Industry, BDI, Cologne, and of the Presidency of the International Chamber of Commerce, ICC, Paris. Mr. Schimmelbusch received his graduate degree (with distinction) and his doctorate (magna cum laude) in Economics from the University of Tübingen, Germany.
